R.S.P.H  Qualifications (Workplace and the Community)

The Royal Society for Public Health is an independent, multi-disciplinary organisation, dedicated to the promotion and protection of collective human health and well-being.

Over 100,000 students take RSPH qualifications each year in a range of health-related subject areas. These qualifications are directly relevant to the workplace, and as a registered provider of these courses, Synergy helps organisations to address employee health and well-being by offering two particular qualifications at different levels.

Health Awareness (Level 1)
This level one course provides learners with the basic principles of health, and the impact of various lifestyle choices. It focuses on both physical and mental well-being, and is applicable both for individuals and in work-based settings. This qualification is ideal for use in induction programmes and as part of initiatives such as “Fitness for Work”, or those seeking access to health professions.

Areas covered include:                                                                                     

  • Basic Principles of Public Health
  • Lifestyle Choices Affecting Personal Health and Well-being
  • Managing Personal Health Collaboratively with Health Services

Duration: 1 day including 45 min assessment

Understanding Health Improvement (Level 2)
This Level 2 accredited qualification equips staff to motivate and support individuals within the workplace or community to adopt a healthier lifestyle. This training course provides focused knowledge and understanding of the benefits of good health, and barriers to making change. These skills can be used in a pro-active approach in addressing staff / community health and well-being.

Areas covered include:                                                                                     

  • Concepts of Health
  • Promoting Health and Well-being
  • Health Improvement Factors
  • Behaviour Change

Duration: 1.5 days including 45 min assessment

 

Each of the above courses can be delivered in-house

 

The RSPH (Royal Society for Public Health) is regulated as an awarding body by the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator, Ofqual.
